more fabric word arts...

Have been busy cutting lots and lots of letters lately...making more fabric word art for my stockists, presents for friends and custom orders too.

Monet Exhibition...

My Nanna used to have a Renoir painting (not the original of course) but a copy she bought on her travels to Paris.  It was Girl with Dog from the Luncheon of the Boating Party and it was hung on the back of her kitchen door.  I loved that painting.  Ever since then I have loved the works of The Impressionists - a 19th century art movement that originated with a group of Paris-based artists.

I missed the Renoir Exhibition when it came to Adelaide some years ago, so when I heard there was to be a Monet exhibition (Claude Monet was one of the Impressionists) I was definitely not going to miss it.

Afterwards we headed off for lunch.

One of my favourite things to do in Melbourne is wandering down the laneways.  They are filled with cozy little places to eat.

After looking at all the famous French paintings and having lunch down here we kind of felt like we were in Paris!

In other news - it's school holiday time so there's been lots of slow morning starts.  Even though it's winter here in Melbourne we still had a craving for ice-cream.  I'd heard about Jock's  icecream parlour in Albert Park and their 'Hokey Pokey icecream'.  We love going for a drive...

I think we'll have to make another trip there again next week!

New word art at Fresco House & Flowers...

We've been having some beautiful sunny winter days here in Melbourne lately even though very cold in the mornings and evenings. I delivered some new fabric word arts to Fresco House & Flowers this week.  Their new cafe is now open on the weekends.

Everyone knows IKEA right?  But have you heard of IKEA Hackers?  An IKEA hack is a modification/repurposing of an IKEA product.  There is even a website full of ideas right here!.

a library bag...

Winter is a good time to cozy up inside and surround yourself with books.  I love visiting the library and borrowing a big stack.

I finished a custom made library bag yesterday. I made it in denim and appliqued the lettering.  It's large and sturdy so you can borrow as many books as you like!  I need to make another one for myself now.
