Castle and Things

How can you not have a crush on Rachel Castle?  She loves having a bit of fun.  She loves colour and whimsy. She loves making stuff.  She is a ray of sunshine and has a bit of a cult following on Instagram.

Click on the link here Vimeo to see some Castle goodness!

Tiny Miss Dolly on Wheels

I first spotted Dolly via Natalie Jeffcott and her feature on Apartment Therapy

What an amazing job Dolly has done by creating and making her very own home.  A little house she can take wherever she likes from the hills to the beach.    Check out the house tour here:

Welcome to Gozi and Pop Headquarters!

These Ikea tubs were used in the kid's bedrooms for toy storage once upon a time.  Now the kids are no longer young ones, they make perfect storage for fabrics.

Patchwork Softie Soccer Balls are fun to make and make great baby and toddler gifts.  Perfect for indoor use and for gross motor skills.

There are no windows in the studio/shed.  I leave the door open and there are skylights so it's fresh and bright.  Instead of facing a blank wall while sewing, I've created a mood style board to keep me inspired and to help with ideas.  The desk used to be in one of the kid's bedrooms which has now been outgrown.  Rather than getting rid of it, I can use it for sewing.  It's a bit low, but will do for now!

This bookshelf previously housed all our DVD's and CD's....before that it was a bookcase in my daughter's bedroom.  I painted it white about 16 years ago and it's had one touch up coat of paint since.  All I needed was a $2.50 packet of shelf supports from Bunnings Hardware, added the adjustable shelves and now it's a good storage place for tubs of fabrics and other supplies.

What is it about folding fabrics?  I could happily do it all afternoon! Fabrics sit nicely in a clear plastic drawer organiser from KMart.

China cabinet bought from local Op Shop is a nice way to display folded fabrics.

An inexpensive folding trestle table comes in handy as another work bench.

So there's a small tour of Gozi and Pop Headquarters....well it's the only parts which have had a spring clean so far!   Stay tuned....
