Davies & Son shop

Went to visit the lovely Michelle at Davies & Son earlier this week to drop off some more Gozi & Pop creations.
I got a great surprise when I drove past yesterday to see some of the framed word art and soccer ball softies in the window display.
Michelle has a gorgeous little shop with lots of nice things all Australian made and fresh flowers too.

This is Polly (centre) our bold and fearless Jack Russell puppy.
Today she is at the vet to be 'fixed' .
It is so quiet at home without her.  But I know she is in good hands at the Vet.

Time to get back to some sewing, and then before I know it, it will be time to pick up our little Polly.

I'm a little bit obsessed with books.  Especially Scandinavian, craft and children's rooms.  It is where I get my inspiration from for my next project or just to dream about how I would like my kid's rooms to look.  Sometimes I can get an idea just from one little thing I see in a photo. Either something to make or the way to store and display items.   I like to go to my local library and borrow a heap of books just to sit on the coffee table.  Just because they are nice to look at. And sometimes I will have to buy books because I love reading them every so often.

I'm always on the lookout for ideas on how to display items at market stalls or for photos.  I have ideas in my head of how I want something to look, but can't seem to achieve it because (a) I'm not handy with a hammer & wood to build something like on Better Homes & Gardens,  or (b) can never find anything at places like Ikea.  But today I was in luck.  I decided to have a quick look at our local Sunday trash & treasure market and there I found this.  For ten dollars! As predicted, my husband just shook his head when I wheeled this inside the house..'and where are you going to put that?'
I think it is going to look fabulous filled with lots of handmade goodies at the next market.

Yay - I learnt something new

So happy I finally worked out how to make my own binding..not as hard as I thought.  I did have to do a bit of unpicking first though, but that's all part of the learning process.  Hope they look good on my latest project.

it's nice to finally have made something out of all these squares

what to do with all these squares?

I remembered I had cut up these squares ages ago, maybe last winter to make a  quilt.  I've never made a patchwork quilt before, it seems like a big daunting project.  So I've decided to turn these colourful squares into something else.
Will show you my completed project tomorrow.
